The sun is shining in your face, the wind is blowing through your hair and the coast can be seen to the right of the road - this is how many people imagine the perfect holiday. And preferably in your own van. For Instagram users, this dream is now within reach. And thanks to a competition by the start-up Got Bag.
The young company, which offers backpacks, bags, clothing, and much more made from recycled sea plastic, is giving away a van worth 35,000 euros via Instagram – including interior design, CO2 offsetting, and a surprise box. All users have to do to participate is follow the Got Bag account, like the post and tag their travel buddy in the comments, and share the post in their own story.

Got Bag can more than double the number of followers through the Instagram competition
Sounds tempting? A large number of Instagram users thought the same thing. Anyone who has been on Instagram since yesterday (November 8, 2021) will see the Got Bag post in an exceptional number of stories. And not only the reach of the competition is enormous. The growth of the account can also impress social media experts. Information is circulating on LinkedIn that Got Bag has increased the number of subscribers in the past 24 hours from around 150,000 followers to 356,000 community members.

And engagement has also increased significantly. The Instagram post with the competition was able to generate around 290,000 likes and 550,000 comments for Got Bag. The previous posts averaged around 4,000 likes and 1,000 comments.
Lasting Instagram success or a flash in the pan of engagement?
Thirty-five thousand euros for a van in exchange for a number of followers and an incredible increase in engagement - Got Bag made this deal. However, it remains to be seen whether the majority of subscribers will stay when the competition is over. The only thing that is certain is that the start-up has caused an enormous stir on Instagram and shows that a single well-thought-out post can make a business account go through the roof. A special side effect: Brand awareness should have increased considerably. And since this is a sustainable brand that recycles tons of ocean plastic, one can only hope that sales figures reflect this.
